There is an urgent search for a driver who allegedly accelerated towards a cyclist to “deliberately” hit him on aThe 59-year-old cyclist, from Pakenham, was riding on Douglas St in Noble Park around 6.40am last Thursday, when he was passed by a white car.Watch the latest news and stream for free onThe car then came to a stop to allow the bicycle to pass and then accelerated toward the rider, police allege.
The victim was thrown from the bike and somersaults on the bitumen before coming to a stop on his hands and knees.Dashcam footage shows the car driving behind the cyclist for a short distance, before slightly mounting the kerb and hitting the cylist. He incredibly had no major injuries.
Police are now urgently searching for the driver and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
