An extensive land and air search is underway on Fraser Island for a woman who went missing during an hiking trip. 9News
Patrol Group Inspector Brooke Flood said the woman had been with a group of friends who were "quite experienced hikers".
"She's become separated from the group and hasn't met at their arranged location," Inspector Flood said.SES crews have also been involved in the search."There is quite dense scrub around the area which is why we're using all available resources including trail bikes," she said.Inspector Flood said the woman sent a text from her phone about 7pm yesterday but it was believed her phone was now out of battery.
