Donald Trump says he can save America from "warmonger" Democrats and the "zealots and fools" of the Republican party.It comes the day after Mr Trump released a single in collaboration with men imprisoned over the Capitol Riot.
"We had a Republican Party that was ruled by freaks, neocons, globalists, open border zealots and fools," he said, singling out multiple luminaries of the traditional party by name. Mr Trump spoke for around 100 minutes to close out the four-day CPAC, a short hop down the Potomac River from the nation's capital Washington.
He reiterated voter fraud conspiracy theories and grievances against law enforcement and "radical left" prosecutors. The song features Mr Trump reciting the Pledge of Allegiance over the choir of men singing the Star Spangled Banner.In December, the United States House Committee released its final report on the Capitol Riot, and said Mr Trump had failed to act to stop his supporters from attacking the Capitol.
But delegates did heckle his only declared Republican rival Nikki Haley repeatedly, during and after her appearance Friday at the convention.
