Mr Boughton-Smith, a former engineer, said he and his wife of 15 years, Christina, an accountant and resident of the UK, had not been informed whether he would be allowed to live in Sweden again, and were now “living in trepidation” over whether he will be allowed to live there ever again. for three years and returned to the UK, despite him having no home there as he had been living in the EU for 20 years.
Mr Boughton-Smith has been waiting two years to know if he is ‘allowed to stay with my wife in our and Swedish home freely’ He fears that it could be ever tougher trying to re-enter Sweden later this year for Christmas. “I am in fear that I’ll be banned for three years,” he said. “Despite trying, I have not been able to get a definitive answer from Migrationsverket or Border Force as to what’s happening.”
