Last week, shoegaze legends My Bloody Valentine furiously called out Spotify over the music streamer’s new lyrics function.band alerted its followers
It was perhaps an odd complaint for a band whose lyrics have always been more textural than, well, intelligible, draped as they are under layers of gorgeously demented fuzz. I mean, most of us have probably sung an MBV song, it generally goes something like: “When I look at you, duh duh duh duh duh duh wah wah, once in a while, try to duh duh duh [mimics guitar] reoooow reoooow roooooow-rooooow!” and so on.More significantly, the band’s wrong.
As a long-established reader of all media , a constant lyrical supplement to music is easily the greatest invention of the streaming era.
