Sky News US political commentator Joe Hockey says running on a policy of ‘I’m not Donald Trump’ is not enough for Joe Biden to win. President Donald Trump has continued trying to frame the upcoming election as solely about law and order, while Democratic nominee for president Joe Biden has tried to link Mr Trump with the coronavirus crisis.
Mr Hockey said President Trump has tactically made the pandemic a state’s issue which has “lowered the temperature of the coronavirus … as a political issue”. “This election will be about jobs and security from a republican perspective,” he told Sky News host Paul Murray. “For the Democrats, it will be ‘I’m not Donald Trump’. “I don’t think ‘I’m not Donald Trump’ is enough of a policy platform for Joe Biden to win at the moment.
