A West Australian spearfisher credits his friend for saving his life, carrying him across rocks before rushing him to hospital after he was bitten by a suspected great white shark off the coast of Albany | Cameron Myles and Tara Cosoleto

A West Australian spearfisher credits his friend for saving his life, carrying him across rocks before rushing him to hospital after he was bitten by a suspected great white shark off the coast of Albany.

“And I look down and there’s just this 5-metre great white cruising in front of me, it took one turn, had a look at me, took another turn, and on that last turn it just came straight for me and bit me on the legs,” he said. “So I gritted my teeth and kicked as hard as I could with both legs just trying to get back to shore or at least to a point where I felt the shark couldn’t get me any more.”
