Parts of NSW have woken up under a blanket of snow, as an Antarctic blast sweeps across the state. The cold front is expected to clear NSW today, with rainfall forecast off the state's coast tonight and early tomorrow. 9News DETAILS:
"Some super cold air has enabled snow to fall to much lower levels," Weatherzone said.
But in good news for ski enthusiasts, a fresh 20 centimetres of snow coated the Snowy Mountains overnight.Meanwhile in Canberra, temperatures dropped five degrees in less than an hour this morning.Weatherzone said a flurry of snow in Canberra isn't "out of the question". Weather warnings for damaging winds have been cancelled, but not before gusts of 100km/hr were recorded through the Victorian alps.Snow beginning to fall in regional NSW with more on the way on Tuesday night.
"There is a lot of cold air behind this front so there are warnings out for Tasmania, a road weather alert for icy roads and also a bushwalkers alert for low-level snow, and of course lots of floods warnings as well."
