Imagine giving a foster child the best weekend ever — these special carers provide support, laughter and love a few days at a time.

When a child arrives in an emergency situation, the carers may not know from where or what possessions they will have.While the days were usually easy and fun, Josh said night time was the hardest.

"You put a child down to bed, and for a lot of these kids, night time is not a good time, a lot of stuff happens at night time."Dani Atkinson, ac.care foster care manager, said the children might have been exposed to trauma and exhibited behaviours carers might not have encountered before. "These children have had to experience things that any adult would find incredibly difficult," Ms Atkinson said.
