Exclusive: Inconsistent, confusing network of Sydney tolls in the spotlight | Rabe9 Mattonews
The inequity of Sydney’s sprawling toll road network and its effect on cost of living have been highlighted as key focuses of a sweeping NSW government review into the way motorists are charged.
The government document states that tolling arrangements in NSW had evolved on a case-by-case basis, leading to inconsistencies across the network and customer confusion. Government documents suggest aspects of the review were due to be finalised by March, but were later extended by six months to September.
The government is expected to tackle the tolling issue in a two-stage approach, according to a senior source with knowledge of the plan.
