Australia's Indy500 champion Will Power has given the thumbs up to Scott McLaughlin's American dream, after the Supercars champion finished a remarkable third fastest at IndyCar's spring training session in Texas.
Power, whose career includes wins in both the Indy500 and the year-long championship, said McLaughlin has a bright future in the category. Penske has already confirmed McLaughlin will make his IndyCar race debut in early May on the Indianapolis road course, but according to Power, that could be just the start of much bigger things.
"He acts like a veteran driver. He's had a lot of years in a top level series, his approach is great."
