Apple’s latest tablet is undoubtedly one the greatest feats of computer hardware engineering ever. But what about its software?
Already a subscriber?Whenever Apple comes out with a new iPad Pro, we run it through a simple test here in the Digital Life Labs to check that it really is the “Pro” device it says it is on the box.
You can plug the iPad Pro into an external monitor and use it as a desktop computer – provided it has the apps you need. Add to that the fact that iPadOS supports almost none of the software development apps we use here in the Digital Life Labs every day, and, well, you can see the capability gap I’m talking about.
Compared to the new 15-inch MacBook Air the iPad Pro is 56 per cent faster for single-core performance, 27 per cent faster for multi-core performance and 12 per cent faster for graphics performance.
