A group of Irish nationals posing as tourists have been arrested following a series of alleged burglaries across Melbourne.

Police allege the group stole more than $500,000 worth of property including cash, designer jewellery, watches and handbags. Although most of the offences took place while residents were away, the group is accused of committing two home invasions and one aggravated burglary. "People coming into your private space... it's extremely traumatic," Victoria Police Senior Sergeant Daniel Brown said.Police executed five search warrants at properties across Melbourne's northern suburbs last week.
