"I've had grown men cry about the fact that this is the first time they've ever taken their pride and joy on a city road.Drag racers zipped around the Alice Springs Inland Dragway. "We're 1,500 kilometres from anywhere here in Alice, and it's a really massive credit both to the town and to the event that people are prepared to get in their cars in record numbers and head here."
"It is traditionally a V8, street machine kind of thing, but we're starting to see a lot more variety of people who are modifying their cars and just wanting to show it off.The event is the only time when car lovers can take their unregistered vehicles for a spin.Warren Gersekowski and his crew travelled to Alice Springs from Towoomba in Queensland, to defend his title after winning the burnout masters two years in a row.
"Anyone's got a drama, they always run around, try and help out, which is bloody good to see, I reckon."
