While Sydney World Pride in February is the biggest LGBTQ event this year, the Glam Slam is the only LGBTQ tennis tournament played as part of a grand slam event anywhere in the world. The event has attracted corporate attention. Last year, official Open sponsor Ralph Lauren requested to sponsor Glam Slam, which is significant — D’Souza suspects fears about sponsorship losses is a factor in why there are no out male tennis players on the ATP tour.
