Confidence among Perth businesses has been dented by the second coronavirus lockdown in Melbourne as it offers a bleak window into what a fresh outbreak could mean.

"Certainly, we can be sure that these sorts of outbreaks do impact on business confidence," CCIWA chief economist Aaron Morey said.A reminder 'how vulnerable we are'

"I guess it is a reminder for all of us in the industry how vulnerable we still are," Mr Lavell said."Being a business of our size and being very much a cash-flow business in a neighbourhood, we rely on being able to open and open as close to normal as possible." "All the measures that have been put in place are giving me a huge amount of confidence, so much so that we're opening up a sixth location in Cottesloe soon," he said. While WA's hard border was benefiting some businesses by allowing them to reopen to increased capacity, Mr Morey said the travel restrictions continued to adversely affect many others.
