Russian holidaymakers lazing at beach clubs by the light blue waters on the Crimean Peninsula were sent running by several huge explosions last week. The new threat posed by Ukraine has seen roads out of the peninsula choked as people try to leave.

The recent blasts have seen an exodus of people from the peninsula back east to Russia.

There were also huge queues of people at Simferopol train station, with video showing hundreds of people with suitcases lining up outside after trains were suspended due to damaged tracks. "I mean, there's a certain lack of confidence there, either they're vacationers or permanent residents, I suspect probably a combination of both, deciding to get out of Dodge," she said.The Crimean port city of Sevastopol is the home of the Russian Navy's Black Sea Fleet.
