Jewish leaders have slammed the Albanese government for its inaction on antisemitism, which reached its height last week after a Melbourne synagogue was firebombed.

Mr Vorchheimer said Australia had a “socialist left government” which had a “deep-seated hatred” for the state of Israel. “This is not a surprise. This didn't come out of nowhere. “I hope that all reasonable Australians will find that what's happened with the crisis of antisemitism and it's not just attacking Jews, it's also attacking Christian events, the Myer shop windows, the Carols by Candlelight last year, the attack on Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel,” he said“We are very angry about it.”
The AJA president said some of the policies articulated by President-elect Donald Trump were “fantastic” with the Jewish community hoping there would be a flow-on effect on Australia.
