The flight from Bangkok bound for Melbourne was forced to divert mid-way through its journey when a 'serious medical emergency' occurred, with hundreds left waiting onboard when another issue was discovered.
JQ30 from Bangkok to Melbourne departed on Saturday night about 9:30pm but was forced to make an emergency landing at Alice Springs Airport in the Northern Territory mid-way through its flight due to a"serious medical emergency".
It meant the holidaymakers were forced to wait on the Jetstar aircraft for at least seven hours on the tarmac, with some claiming they were given little food and water. Many holidaymakers complained they were not given drinks or food for a few hours before sandwiches and teas and coffees were later handed out.
Jetstar's Head of Corporate Affairs Ingrid Just said the"first priority" was for the passenger on board who had suffered a medical emergency.
