The Democrats are going to “rue the day” they picked Joe Biden as their candidate rather than someone who was on top of the issues, according to former NSW treasurer Michael Costa.
“If they had have had a different candidate, someone that looked like he was on top of the issues rather than heading for a retirement home, they may well be in a better position,” Mr Costa told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
Mr Costa said he wouldn’t write off President Donald Trump despite the large leads held by Mr Biden, because the president has voter enthusiasm. “You’ve just got to look at these rallies he’s conducting and the amount of people, and compare them to who turns up for Biden,” he said. “The Democrats are going to rue the day that they picked Joe Biden as the candidate.”
