The trial of an off-duty police officer charged with assaulting a man and perverting the course of justice is told he allegedly tried to change his false story about the altercation once he realised it had been captured on CCTV.

Mr McIntee testified he did not see what happened in the lead-up to the altercation and was concerned for the welfare of Mr Obeid.Juma Obeid told the court he was punched in the face by the off-duty officer Todd Apted. He conceded he was "heavily intoxicated" at the time, but did not remember how much he'd had to drink the night before.
