Karl Stefanovic has put it to Penny Wong whether Anthony Albanese has 'got a bit soft' after he went on leave for a week, as he also took a dig at Scott Morrison's Hawaii trip.

Today host Karl Stefanovic has cheekily asked whether Anthony Albanese has"got a bit soft" amid the Prime Minister's week-long absence. for the first time this year so he could have"a bit of a rest" during his break within Australia.

"Why is the Prime Minister taking leave? You never take leave. I mean, has he got a bit soft?" Stefanovic asked Ms Wong. Stefanovic then took a dig at former prime minister Scott Morrison's holiday to Hawaii in December 2019 during the black summer bushfires. "And I look forward to also not holding press conferences and having a bit of a rest. I will be in Australia, but I'd ask that my privacy be respected," the Prime Minister added.
