Former PM Paul Keating says a rumoured visit to Taiwan by US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi amid White House misgivings is ‘reckless and provocative’.

Mr Keating said of the planned visit: “If the situation is misjudged or mishandled, the outcome for the security, prosperity and order of the region and the world – and above all for Taiwan – would be catastrophic.
