KFC to ditch cabbage in ‘five to seven weeks’, CEO says | hijessicayun
Iceberg will make a full return to KFC burgers by spring, parent company Collins Foods chief executive Drew O’Malley said, while flagging the fast food chain will hike prices for a third time this year in response to soaring produce costs.
O’Malley made his comments after Collins Foods, which operates KFC in Australia and Europe as well as Taco Bell in Australia and Sizzler in Asia, revealed a 25 per cent increase in net profits to $59.7 million for the 2022 financial year.Overall revenue rose by 11.1 per cent, driven by KFC Europe, which saw revenue grow 41.2 per cent to $190.4 million. Sales at KFC Australia ticked up 6.1 per cent to $955.5 million.
O’Malley attributed KFC’s growth to its brand positioning as being value for money. Marketing campaigns such as the ‘Did someone say KFC?’ ads have also kept the brand top-of-mind for consumers, he added.But O’Malley said the company was looking at a third price hike this year as businesses grapple with
