Kia has announced a recall for over 10,000 vehicles, including the CV EV6 and MQ4 PE Sorento, due to potential software defects that could increase the risk of accidents.
Kia has issued a recall for two vehicle models over fears two software defects may increase the risk of an accident. More than 10,000 vehicles including the CV EV6 from 2021 to 2024 and the MQ4 PE Sorento from 2023 and 2024 are potentially impacted. The CV EV6 is being recalled due to the integrated charging control unit (ICCU), which may develop an internal fault causing a warning light to illuminate on the instrument cluster and the 12 Volt battery to stop charging.
Kia says a loss of motive power may occur if the warning lights are ignored which could increase the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to the vehicle occupants and/or other road users. Owners of affected vehicles should immediately contact their preferred Kia dealer to schedule an appointment to have the ICCU inspected and replaced if required. Meanwhile the company found a software issue which may result in reduced visibility in the MQ4 PE Sorento. 'The turn indicator light and/or the upper part of the Daytime Running Lights may not operate as intended,' Kia says
