The NRLKnights are investigating after a video surfaced of players Kalyn Ponga and Kurt Mann being kicked out of a pub toilet cubicle by a security guard in Newcastle. 9News FULL STORY:
Kalyn's father, Andre, defended his son's actions."He made an exciting house purchase Saturday and celebrated with a few mates drinking. Sick in the toilet and his mate went in to help him," Andre Ponga told News Corp.
Ponga has been sidelined due to concussion protocols and will not play again this season. The superstar fullback has been involved in training but has not been taking part in contact drills. Ponga told Triple M Newcastle on Sunday afternoon that he was cleared to return for the club's round 25 clash with the Sharks but it had been determined that he would take extra caution and sit it out.
"My season's done. It's a bit weird. I feel OK now. At the start I felt a bit weird, headaches and whatnot, but I feel all right now.
