Kristian White will not be sent to custody ahead of sentencing, after being found guilty of the manslaughter of 95-year-old Clare Nowland.
A police officer who fatally tasered 95-year-old Clare Nowland in an aged care home last year will not be taken into custody after a New South Wales Supreme Court judge dismissed a detention application.
Defence barrister Troy Edwards SC opposed this application, saying that a custodial sentence was not inevitable.During a brief court hearing today, Justice Ian Harrison continued White's bail on the conditions he remains on good behaviour, does not travel overseas and does not communicate with the family of Clare Nowland.
