Labor will struggle to win seats in Queensland, seats the party has won previously, because the Coalition now holds them on large margins thanks to the "Shorten disaster", according to Sky News contributor Andrew Clennell. After this year's federal election, Labor only holds six out of the 30 federal seats in Queensland.

The party lost Herbert and Longman, seats it previously held until the last election. Labor Leader Anthony Albanese has thrown his support behind the coal sector ahead of a tour of Queensland this week. Mr Clennell told Sky News Labor will struggle to win the seats it needs in Queensland because of former Labor Leader Bill Shorten's 'poor performance' at the last federal poll.
