Sources said the duo were after fresh funds to expand into international markets including the United Kingdom, build their team and for marketing. The round was being positioned as a Series B, following itscash call in 2019 which saw mainstream luggage retailer Strandbags join its share register. A carry on suitcase from the brand costs $325, plus another $65 for personalisation. It also sells bigger suitcases, travel accessories and sets. The products are designed in-house in Melbourne but manufactured at external factories.July has two shopfronts in Melbourne, and planned to open a third store, in Sydney, by year-end. About 40 per cent of its sales were from US clients, while most of the rest occurred in Australia.
