Marion Fellows says the injustice of women unknowingly losing out on pension entitlement shows a similar pattern of UK Government failure as with the Post Office scandal and the Windrush fiasco.
A Lanarkshire MP has called for the WASPI women to be given full compensation and said the UK Government must act immediately.
The report has recommended that the affected women should get compensation of between £1,000 and £2,950, but the SNP MP has backed calls from campaigners for a £10,000 compensation payout. “The pattern here is all too familiar. People waiting years for any kind of justice or any kind of compensation. “I have met with them and I have demonstrated with them. Now I want to see immediate action from the government.”
The MP - who has stood in solidarity with women from the Motherwell and Wishaw constituency - says she wants swift action from the UK Government because many of the women involved have died before they have been properly compensated.
