Landlords in Victoria are being left ‘high and dry’ | Sky News Australia

President of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria Leah Calnan says the Victorian government is not supporting landlords as much as tenants after the rental hike and eviction moratorium was extended until March 28 next year.

“There needs to be a real balancing of position so that landlords are equally supported as tenants are being at the moment,” Ms Calnan said. “Landlords are getting very little support from government.

“It leaves landlords high and dry, we’ve got examples of tenants that haven’t paid rent since April this year. “I want to acknowledge that we understand tenants are doing it hard … but there’s equally the same number of landlords doing it hard.”
