Current owner David Thomas bought it 47 years ago, for $230,000.From selling ten pies a day he turned The Oaks into a powerhouse with a radical idea: punters could buy a steak, cook it themselves and enjoy it under the famous oak tree which gave the pub its name."We put a BBQ and cook your own, we never had a bad chef in all those years.David's son Andrew helps run the show now, but its time for the family to sell up.

"There's no many hotels like this around the country. A lot of people have real affection for The Oaks," he said.The Crossroads in Casula in Sydney's west, went for $160m, according to reports from the AFR.
