I think the Coalition is morally bankrupt. They were happy to boast about taking the experts’ advice to get on top of the pandemic, but not when the experts tell them what needs to be done to avoid a climate catastrophe, in case it upsets their fossil fuel contributors. The performance of both Scott Morrison and Anthony Albanese and their respective candidates in that game brings to mind Groucho Marx’s observation that “politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies”.Independents are looking for solutions to glaringly obvious and serious problems and advancing clear policies to remedy them.Ideally, elections should be decided based on policies and not personalities.
So-called gaffes by Labour simply demonstrate that Anthony Albanese is a normal, fallible person like all of us, which is probably the trait I value most when voting in this election. I simply tune out fast-talking frauds.There is going to be aon Sky News and the ads mention the “People’s Forum”, but it isn’t being shown on the free-to-air channels, so how public is the debate?
