Mr Laundy confirmed his retirement in a message sent to Liberal party members in his electorate.
"I have spoken with the Prime Minister to advise him that I would not be recontesting the seat of Reid at this year's federal election," he said.He had served as Small Business Minister until August 2018, where he resigned from the frontbench after the leadership spill. The moderate Liberal represents Reid, a western Sydney electorate projected to be competitive in the upcoming election.
