The NSW Premier is likely to face another gruelling week, but Gladys Berejiklian's leadership is looking increasingly like it will survive last week's bombshell — at least in the short term.that she was in a secret relationship with the former Wagga Wagga MP Daryl Maguire, who is the subject of the investigation."There is a lot of good will across the party room and the community," one Government MP said.
The Premier didn't front any public media events at the weekend, but when three of her senior Ministers did — Mark Speakman, Victor Dominello and Stuart Ayres — they remained steadfast in their support of their leader. "You're always going to get the people whose ambitions exceed their ability, thinking that this is their big chance," a Government MP said.There is also no alternative leader to unite behind because no one is planning to make a move on Ms Berejiklian's leadership.The Premier will again have to face a hostile Opposition as Parliament sits this week.NSW Labor leader Jodi McKay has been outspoken against the Premier amid the scandal.
