Sydney Roosters coach Trent Robinson has broken his silence on new signing Spencer Leniu’s long suspension for allegedly firing a racial slur towards an opposition player.

The suspension means any potential hostility over the incident in the next meeting between the Roosters and Brisbane will likely be avoided with Leniu expected back the following round. “When it comes to the incident, my point on is that if anybody feels that Spencer is racist ,” he said on Wednesday.

The 46-year-old coach was criticised for his initial response to the racial allegations in the post-match press conference.
