We sought to take stock of what it feels like to live in the city, by exploring factors that determine our quality of life . We examined weather, natural environment , open space , physical activity , social connections , relationships, and access to jobs and education. The result was a series with 11,258 words, across 12 articles, as well as graphs, tables, maps, photos, and cover art. We focused on the here-and-now and avoided politics and future changes.
Our efforts depended on data quality, recent research relevance, and subject-matter experts. We ranked Brisbane and other cities on some indicators and included subjective and locally relevant accounts. We want our readers to help us improve our approach next time
