A man believed to be a trainee pilot has been seriously injured after a light plane crashed and flipped onto its roof during a training exercise at Moorabbin Airport.
The injured man, believed to be in his 20s, was initially trapped inside the plane before paramedics managed to free him.Ambulance Victoria said it was called to Bundoora Parade, which runs adjacent to the airport's runways, just before 10am to reports of a plane upended after a crash landing.The man was taken to The Alfred hospital with head and lower body injuries in a serious condition.
