'Like the Opera House': Calls for public design competition for Circular Quay | Mattonews
A $200 million redevelopment of Circular Quay should be opened to a public design competition in the same way as for the Opera House in the 1950s, a local architectural firm argues.

But Transport for NSW, which is overseeing the redevelopment, refuted the claims, saying that the tender process had been "conducted equitably and transparently" since it began in 2018.It said the government had imposed strict conditions to ensure public benefit and urban design were at the heart of the revamp. They included conditions to prevent residential development and restrict building heights to the top of the Cahill Expressway.
