WARNING: Distressing content A father who killed his two-year-old son in a suspected murder-suicide in NSW’s Northern Rivers on Sunday was subject to an apprehended domestic violence order taken out by the boy’s mother, Sophie Roome. James Harrison, 38, and the young boy were found dead inside a Lismore East unit about 9.45pm on Sunday after an access visit.

Bodies of man and toddler found in NSW home. Roome called police at 5.30pm to check on them, an hour after her ex was due to return their son from the custody visit. The local mother had previously applied for an apprehended domestic violence order against Harrison — who was present at Lismore Local Court when it was imposed on February 13, according to court documents.
