Jonathon How, a meteorologist with the Bureau of Meteorology , said an east coast low is expected to hit parts of New South Wales later today or tonight.
"We're already seeing rain build up across Sydney and the Central Coast," he said, explaining dangerous surf conditions and erosion is expected along the coast."We aren't going to see the huge rain in all totals in the north-east because the system is moving quickly, but east coast lows are dynamic systems and can pack a punch where they form near the coast."
There are a number of warnings out, not just for Sydney the Central Coast, but Illawarra and the South Coast. "We are urging residents further south to pay attention to those warnings and follow all the advice of emergency services in the coming days."
