Mr Albanese says as public decision makers, they have a responsibility to listen to the health advice, "but we've also got a responsibility to make decisions which are proportionate". "That is what we have done. COVID is still out there. We understand that, we talked about that need to continue to run campaigns to get people vaccinated. We continue to provide support in high risk areas," he says.
"We'll continue to monitor these issues and we'll have another discussion in December, but as Professor Kelly said, we're making the decisions based upon the circumstances we're in right now."Chief Medical Officer Paul Kelly adds"We were not exposed to COVID before we had at least two vaccines.
