MORNING BRIEFING: About 3,000 students from eight LGAs are set to receive their first dose of Pfizer, while Penrith residents wake up to tighter restrictions.
About 3,000 year 12 students from eight local government areas of concern are set to receive their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine today.
As the COVID-19 Delta variant continues to take hold in these LGAs, Premier Gladys Berejiklian has said giving these students priority access is the best way to ensure no-one will be "disadvantaged" when sitting the HSC.Almost 200,000 people in the Penrith local government area have woken up to tighter COVID-19 restrictions, with cases continuing to emerge in the region.
In a statement, the hospital said a man in his 30s from Belrose with COVID-19 had been admitted on Saturday night. Construction workers will be able to return to unoccupied sites across locked-down LGAs including Canterbury-Bankstown, Fairfield, Liverpool and Parramatta.
