MORNING BRIEFING: Residents in Sydney's north, west and the Central Coast are being warned they could be without electricity for at least a week as crews race to repair fallen power lines.
Ausgrid is warning residents across Sydney's north and the Central Coast they might not have the power back on until the end of the week.
Crews are being brought in from other parts of the state to help with clearing hazards and repairing the damaged infrastructure. "Our crews have to battle conditions like everyone else and in some areas we still have localised flooding and bridges and ferries that are closed and which are hampering access to the parts of the network that need to be repaired," he said.A trailbike rider has died after coming off his bike at a reserve in Blacktown, in Sydney's west.
