Earlier, Victorian secretary of the RTBU Vik Sharma said workers from different unions who had descended upon the CBD were angry and would keep fighting until “we get our union back”. Thousands of workers from the CFMEU, ETU, UFU, AMWU, UWU, and HACSU occupied the streets of Melbourne to protest the placement of all branches of the construction arm of the CFMEU into administration last week.

We have every right to be angry, and we still stay angry until they sort out this mess,” Sharma said. “This fight will not be over to we get our union back. This crowd is going to be symbolic in the pages of history,” he said to roars of applause. “Nothing has ever been given to us - we have always fought for it. We will keep fighting.
