Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says he earns a good income as Australia’s leader but he also knows what it is like to struggle after committing to buy a $4.3 million home on the Central Coast with his fiancee Jodie Haydon. Albanese said the home had not settled yet and the sale of his Dulwich Hill home would contribute towards the new property. “Of course I am much better off as prime minister, I earn a good income,” Albanese said when questioned about the purchase at a press conference.

I know what it is like which is why I want to help all Australians into a home, whether it be public homes or private rentals, or home ownership.” Albanese said Haydon was a proud “coasty” and three generations of her family lived on the Central Coast. “When your relationship changes, your life changes and you make decisions.
