Amid ongoing border traffic chaos, a Griffith University transport expert echoes police in rejecting the notion of a dedicated pass for residents living in Queensland's border towns.

Queensland police have been stopping and checking vehicles with New South Wales or Victorian number plates, but numerous residents of the interwoven Coolangatta and Tweed Heads communities have called for special consideration. "We've had to discontinue home delivery because we lose a staff member for an hour and a half, two hours — we just can't do business this way," he said.
