Passengers across the Sydney network endured average delays of 15 to 30 minutes, with some facing waiting times of up to 1½ hours between services.
Tens of thousands of Sydney commuters suffered long waits between services and hours stuck in heavy traffic as people took to roads trying to avoid disruptions and delays as a bitter NSW rail dispute grinds on.
The union will take similar action on Thursday including a six-hour stoppage that will disrupt the City Circle line. “We had a meeting this morning with some people and that part of the process is moving forward,” Mr Claassens said. Premier Dominic Perrottet accused the union of “playing political games” and treating commuters as “political pawns”.
