Melbourne Airport is forging ahead with plans for a third runway despite the lull in operations, putting thousands of homes such as Hasan Sayer’s directly beneath its flight path.

A state government spokeswoman said Victoria was "currently reviewing planning controls near the airport to reflect the updated noise forecasts approved by Airservices Australia".
