The first sleep pod hotel has opened its doors in Brisbane , with luxury pods on offer for under $70 a night. The hostel-hotel hybrid accommodation operated by Lylo opened in Fortitude Valley this month, and aims to reinvent the traditional communal dorm room to cater for tourists travelling on a budget.
New sleep pod arrival shakes up Brisbane’s hotel scene. “It’s a brand-new way of travel,” Lylo managing director Tim Alpe said. “We’ve sort of thrown out the historical budget accommodation look and feel.” Accommodation options range from four to six pod dorms, including female-only dorms with make-up stations, all with lockable luggage space, power points and fans, adding to the brand’s comfort on a budget mantra.
